Minutes from BSAKU Meetings 

General Meeting (August 20, 2005)
Followings are the meeting minutes from the general meeting held on August 20th, 2005 which mainly include Annual Picnic and Election of the BSAKU executive committee members for the academic year 2005 - 2006:

Annual Picnic/ Newcomers' Reception / Election:

Date: Saturday, September 10th, 2005
Time: 12:00 pm Venue: (1) Ruchi Indian Cuisine (Lawrence, Kansas)
(2) Bloomington Park (Shelter and direction will be notified later)

Lunch: It was decided that we will meet in Ruchi Indian Cuisine in Lawrence sharply at 12 pm (noon) for lunch.

Fees:
(a) BSAKU paid members: FREE
(b) Students: $6.00
(c) Others: $7.99 (Ruchi Indian Cuisine buffet price)
(d) Kids price will be notified later

Activities:
After lunch, we will start for Bloomington Park sharply at 1:30 pm.The activities in the park include:
(a) Games for female and male (prizes will be awarded)
(b) Welcome New Students/Faculty (we have 3 newcomers this semester)

Election Procedure 2006:

1. Nominations for 3 posts namely: President, Vice President and Treasurer can be sent to BSAKU via email at bsaku@raven.cc.ku.edu by September 2nd (Friday) by 5:00 pm.

2. A nominator can either nominate himself/herself or another person for the above mentioned posts. In both cases the identity of the nominator will be kept confidential by BSAKU. Only KU Students (Lawrence campus, Edwards campus and KU Med Center) are eligible for nominations.

3. The nominees will be notified by BSAKU, for the acceptance or declination of his/her candidacy after September 2nd, 2005.

4. Only paid members are eligible to nominate and vote. It is not necessary to nominate for all executive posts.

5. Again the LAST day for sending nominations is September 2nd by 5:00 pm.

6. A secret ballot system will be followed for voting in the picnic on September 10th, 2005. The new elected committee will then choose their advisor.

Note: if you are planning to attend the picnic on Sept 10th, 2005, please let us know by Sept 2nd by email to bsaku@raven.cc.ku.edu.

 
General Meeting (October 1, 2004)
Following decisions were taken:

Membership Fees: The membership fees for the current academic year will remain the same as previous years ($12/year).Fees can be paid to -

Please pay the dues to the above mentioned people as soon as possible.

Information Update: If your contact information or any of the personal info posted on the BSAKU website has been changed, please notify our Public Relations Officer Riazul Alam at rizalam@ku.edu.

T-Shirt: There are 14 "BSAKU T-shirt"s (printed previously) left in our collection.If anyone is interested to collect those, please contact Riazul Alam at rizalam@ku.edu for more information.

Eid Party: It has been decided that a get-together party will be held on the occassion of Eid-ul-Fitr.Since the tentative date for Eid-ul-Fitr is in the mid-november, the proposed possible time for the party is sometime in the thanksgiving break.The exact date is yet to be decided.

BSAKU Lecture Series: A proposal to organize lecture series was brought up where interested speakers from our association or community will give a lecture on any topic he/she feels to spread knowledge among others.It was decided that the lectures should be open to everyone rather than just the association members. Feedbacks/suggestions are welcome in this matter.
